It all comes down to this: trips to the ER suck, Safety is Sexy.
Helmets good. End of story. My helmet has saved my ass at least twice that I can think of and I have the cracked lids to prove it.
You can be going as slow as you want and a car not seeing you will rapidly accelerate your body to speeds that are not survivable without a helmet, likewise folding a bike at 10mph will result in your top half hitting the pavement at close to 25mph.
Drop by the shop we have gone out of our way to stock the joint with helmets that look good and have a Zero Dork factor. Plus, they are remarkably affordable.
